Junior Equity Trader

**Role Purpose**

The purpose of the **Junior Equity Trader Role** is to assist the trader in managing and executing transactions on behalf of clients and portfolio managers, with focus on both local and international markets.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 /NQF 4
- Bachelor degree in Finance or Commerce
- RPE Trader exams (3 Modules) would be advantageous
- JSE Traders exam would be advantageous

**Experience**:

- 1-2 years’ experience in a stockbroking environment
- An understanding of corporate actions, financial markets, trading and stocks

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Assists in the management of local and international corporate actions on stocks and collaborate with other teams in order to ensure efficient execution
- Assist the team with adhoc administration
- Assist in the process of processing and executing accurate trade
- Reconcile and match trades received, and report on the delivery of services against instructions received from clients
- Manage the day to day client engagements: payment instructions, general queries
- Risk mitigation (including client level, market level and Momentum Securities) associated with trading activities
- Attend to client queries within the agreed service levels and ensure that clients receive timeous feedback
- Provide accurate information to clients on stocks in order to assist clients to make informed trading decisions
- Provide trading ideas and suggestions that are aligned to the Momentum Securities house view strategy
- Assist team members and peers where required: placing orders, aid clients
- Remain able to offer relevant market commentary to clients and peers alike
