We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced **Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP)** to join our on-site medical team at a leading mining operation in **Elukwatini, Mpumalanga**. This is a critical role focused on promoting and safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of employees in a high-risk industrial environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct statutory medical surveillance and fitness-to-work assessments in line with Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirements.
- Manage occupational injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions relevant to the mining context.
- Lead return-to-work programs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, safety officers, and HR departments.
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards.
- Support and participate in health promotion, wellness campaigns, and disease prevention strategies on-site.
- Provide emergency care, trauma support, and stabilization for site-related incidents if required.

**Requirements**:

- MBChB or equivalent medical degree.
- **Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)** as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
- **Qualification or certification in Occupational Health (DOH/DOMH/Diploma in Occupational Medicine)** - essential.
- Prior experience working in the **mining or heavy industry sectors** - highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with South African occupational health legislation, including MHSA and COIDA.
- Strong clinical judgement, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in remote or challenging environments.
