**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Business Development Executive will play a crucial role in shaping our organisations future by developing new relationships with clients in the distress credit market, directly impacting the company's growth and long-term success. He / she will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Business Development process, implementing effective, mutual beneficial acquisition strategies, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

This position is based in our Sandton, JHB branch.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Under the management / direction of the COO, you will have the following responsibilities (including but not limited to):

- Business Development: Create and deliver a strategic growth plan supporting the Group's growth aspirations.
- Build and maintain strategic sustainable relationships in the industry
- Oversee all new business, including tenders, proposals, presentations, marketing material, events and contracting etc.
- Manage own development and road to success
- Responsible to co-ordinate manage and report on the company's new business development and sales activities
- Set up, manage and evaluate supporting structures, resources, systems and policies, developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analysing business opportunities as it relates both to major international, national and public clients and the regional or small business structure.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Relevant degree (preference)
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar environment (legal collections, debt collections, credit bureau background, business outsourcing, acquisitions)
- Understanding of the risk management transaction cycle with relevant training from any of the industry players
- Sales pipeline experience in debt related products and services
- Strong, established C-Suite network (advantageous)
- Identifies opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements,
- Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering and exploring opportunities,
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, integrating contract requirements with business operations,
- Develops sales, marketing and negotiating strategies, processes, materials and systems to identify and pursue potential opportunities,
- Establish sales objectives for sales group by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Goal-Oriented: Meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas is a key part of the role. A goal-oriented mindset is important.

**COMPETENCIES / SKILLS**:

- Financial Acumen: Understanding pricing strategies, profit margins, and financial aspects related to credit, distress credit and sales cycles
- Intermediate level in MS office suite (with focus on MS Excel and Outlook)
- Customer Focus, Customer Service, Verbal Communication, Managing Processes, Emphasizing Excellence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team player and has strong attention to detail / an eye for accuracy.

**WORKING HOURS**:
You will be required to work a maximum of 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
