Health & Safety Officer (with HR Background Advantageous)

Are you passionate about workplace safety and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our team and take the lead in maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety policies, procedures, and systems in line with legislation and company requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead safety training, awareness campaigns, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA and relevant automotive/manufacturing regulations.
- Collaborate with management and HR to promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
- Assist with HR compliance and employee wellness initiatives (advantageous but not the main focus).

Minimum Requirements:

- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- HR experience or background will be a strong advantage.
