**Joinery/Shopfitting/Furniture Industry - Production Manager**

South African Shopfitting manufacturing company provides solutions to the retail, commercial, corporate and leisure markets looking for a COMPETENT LEADER that can MANAGE FACTORY PRODUCTION AND HAVE THE SKILL AND WILLINGNESS TO ASSIST.

The position is to manage the factory production at the PHXbuilt premises in Ottery. The task is to ensure that all factory units and components for site, are ready to deliver ahead of the scheduled time, and without any defects.

As the production manager ,you will brief the work load, and scheduling. You will need to co-ordinate the timeous ordering of materials, to ensure there is smooth workflow through the factory.

Requirements:
It will be your task to draw up cutting lists, and programme the work through the machine shop. If machinists/joiners handle their own cutting lists, you will still need to check and oversee them.

Once the assembly process starts you will need to monitor progress, and where necessary take any required action to ensure the units are completed ahead of schedule. There will need to be constant attention to quality standards, and the required levels must be met. Also be very careful not to spend undue time and effort where the required quality is of a lower standard.

Where necessary, you will co-ordinate the finishing in the spray department, once again with careful attention to finish quality, and timing. Ensure there is enough time to effect any snag repairs timeously.

Final quality checks, once units and materials are complete will be your responsibility.Everything must be handed over to the production manager, and signed off in writing, on the order sheet. The completed orders are the benchmark on which your performance will be assessed.

The workshop foreman is responsible for the leadership of all workshop staff, and maintaining a disciplined and co-operative environment in the workplace.

The role of factory foreman will include the opening and closing of the factory, from Monday to Thursday. You may be required to work Fridays, as and when necessary.

You will also be responsible for ensuring all health and safety standards are met.

The cleanliness of the factory must be excellent at all times. There is no acceptable reason for an untidy work place.

Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant Qualification
- Extensive knowledge of power tools, including Skill Saw, Mitre Saw and Jigsaw
- Knowledge of Hand tools
- Reading of Joinery Plans and drawing up cutting lists
- Ability to work with a full range of board and timber machining equipment including but not limited to; Spindle Moulders, Surface Planners, thicknessers, C&C, Beam Saw
- Understanding Technical Specifications
- Finish range from High End Kitchens, to rough produced stock room shelving.
- Delivery of top-quality workmanship
