**The Company**: Chommies presents a colourful world of luxury dog accessories, and we are currently expanding our product line. All products are handcrafted by local artisans in our Cape Town studio. Our production site and shop are in the heart of Cape Town, and we have a vibrant team working on our beautiful range of products.

We are looking for Product Manager to lead our production team. If you have previous experience in a role like this, and you are looking into a new challenge, focused on nurturing our team, organising the production line and taking ownership and the full production cycle, then this role might be perfect for you

**Role Name**: Production Manager

**Location**: 110 Hatfield St, Gardens, Cape Town, 8001

**Hours of work**: Monday to Friday 9:00am - 17:00pm

**Role summary**:
To plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard.

**Daily Responsibilities**:

- plan a production schedule for the job
- implement and control the production schedule
- review and adjust the schedule where needed
- determine the human resources required
- determine the material resources required
- manage human and material resources to meet production targets
- make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
- work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations
- ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
- ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
- set product quality standards
- monitor quality standards of products
- implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives
- analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
- determine and implement improvements to the production process
- prepare and maintain production reports
- monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
- estimate production costs
- set production budgets
- manage production budgets
- implement cost control programs
- ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments, including procurement, distribution and management
- Use of production and inventory management software to log and optimise production (knowledge of DEAR software specifically would be ideal)
- Lead and manage the workshop and in-house production team

**Requirements**:

- 5 years of experience in a similar capacity and industry
- Knowledge of inventory software
- Financial acumen to set annual budgets and report against it
- People management skills to drive the culture of the team
