Job Overview:
**Insurance & Non-litigation Claims**
- Ensure all relevant insurance covers for the Group are procured, remain current and are renewed timely (at least annually). Renewal of all insurance covers to be done with the support of SEAREG Legal.
- Ensure all risks of the Group are adequately covered, considering amongst other, the business requirements of the Group, local country specific risks and requirements, etc.
- Ensure all policy terms are communicated to the Managers to ensure all relevant employees are familiar with any restrictions, exclusions and specific requirements to ensure cover remains valid.
- Ensure all Group asset claims, customer cargo claims, 3rd party claims, liability claims, etc. are properly and timely reported, managed and closed out.
- Ensure follow-up and receipt of all claim notification reports concerning potential and/or actual claims;
- Review CNR for completeness and accuracy, and request additional information if required;
- Ensure all claims are immediately registered and a claim file opened with a claim reference number for tracking purposes. Maintain an up-to-date claim register for each entity of the Group.
- Notify and support the relevant operations team to properly complete and timely return the relevant claim form. Review the claim form for completeness and accuracy and submit to the relevant insurers. Guide the operations team on the management and communication of the claim up to closure
- Manage and file all correspondence pertaining to each claim in accordance with the agreed filing system (both electronically and manually).
- Liaise with the relevant insurers and operations team up to conclusion of each claim (incl. potential claims).
- Provide regular internal training to all Managers and relevant employees on the claims management and reporting process.
- Prepare statistics and presentations as and when required by the MD, CFO and/or SEAREG Legal team.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant insurance related qualification and / or
- 3 to 5 years’ experience within the insurance or claims industry
- Experience and / or Exposure in the Logistics / Freight Forwarding industry an added advantage
- Experience on the African continent will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and client liaison skills
- Advanced computer skills
