**Responsibilities**:

- Underwriting:
- Assist with tasks as received from Senior Management
- Assist with technical investigation on Loss Ratio and in-depth claims analysis, corrective actions to be implemented, cancellation discussions with team members and where needed, brokers as well.
- Processing and preparation of quotations, endorsements, amendments, new policy activations, cancellations to be loaded on the TIAL system.
- Assist with technical underwriting on queries on business occupations, operations.
- Assist with the handling of broker queries, assisting underwriting.
- Assist underwriting manager with ad hoc requests for underwriting and claims in the Commercial Department.
- New Business- Promoting the company name, it’s capacity and abilities, improving relationships, assisting marketers with complex commercial underwriting matters and claims.
- Risk Surveys- Assisting in communicating and promoting risk survey requirements and making sure correct requirements and underwriting criteria is requested and adhered to both by clients as well as brokers and administrators.
- Claims- Assisting the Claims department with Queries on an ad-hoc basis.
- Ensuring that TCF principles are adhered to.
- Sales and Marketing- Assisting Marketing staff with queries on an ad-hoc basis.
- Risk Management- Utilizing the business description report to ensure good quality business on the books.
- Have technical knowledge on Non-Motor and Motor.
- High Level underwriting queries both internal and external - Turnaround time 24 hours.
- Ensuring that policies and amendments are issued without error within 24 hours.
- Checking all documentation to ensure correctness before processing.
- Quotations & Rating- Processing of new policies according to company procedures.
- Renewal and renewal invites to be done timeously.
- Processing endorsements.
- Handling queries from the Credit control Department.
- Cancellation of policies.
- Handling queries from brokers - Turnaround time 24 hours.
- Diarize issues that need to be followed up on.
- Ensure filing closings and schedules according to company procedure (electronically) by all Underwriting staff.
- General Office Administration.
- Develop relationships with clients and ensure high levels of service.
- Assist with underwriting queries both internal and external - Turnaround time 24 hours.
- Ensure all risks are written within our Treaty Limits.
- No declined risks are accepted or renewed.
- If required FAC is placed by negotiating with NNAC.
- Perform all other functions as required or requested within reason by senior management.**Inherent Requirements**
- Minimum education level: Matric
- Minimum of 5 yrs Commercial Underwriting Experience
- Experience in HCV Commercial Underwriting will be advantageous.
