Mambo’s is searching for an assistant store manager to help drive our retail operations and provide top-notch customer service. We rely on our talented admin managers to use their exceptional leadership skills and business acumen to support their team's performance and drive the store's success. In this position, you'll work closely with the store manager to build a team of service-minded cashiers and shop assistants, all while executing processes and procedures that ensure a consistently wonderful customer experience at Mambo’s. **Administration manager duties**:
The purpose of the administration supervisor is to effectively plan, control, and monitor all facets of administration within the store. Your tasks will include:
Systems training
Inventory control
Human resources management
Customer service
Eco Time training
Cash management
Managing targets
Discount management
Monitoring discounts and price adjustments
Scan rate/price changes
Monitoring and improving scan rates across departments
Handling damages/customer returns and reducing them across departments
Developing and implementing shrinkage controls across departments
Monitoring shrinkage results/negatives
Managing petty cash and ensuring expenses are within budget
Stock management
Extracting stock adjustments and checking for irregularities
Implementing a category stock counts cyclical schedule and investigating variances
Ensuring completion of IBTs and purchase orders to minimise loss
Managing stock take administration and actively reducing the negative stock report
Ensuring company rules are followed regarding shortages/overages and taking disciplinary steps if needed
Front-end management
Evaluating shifts and rosters to optimise staffing within budget and minimise casual/overtime use
Maintaining systems to control all floats securely
Ensuring cashiers are reconciled daily and recon slips are signed and attached to shift reports
Overseeing secure, accurate, and timely banking
Implementing control measures for petty cash
Improving customer care results by developing and implementing methods
Keeping check-outs clean and tidy to avoid customer obstruction
Customer management
Resolving customer complaints and developing proper protocols for handling them, escalating to store manager if needed
Providing customers with efficient service and product knowledge
Building personalised relationships with regular customers
Ensuring designated staff answer phones correctly with knowledge of products and services
Daily follow-up on quotes and issuing proformas to customers
Shrinkage and profitability
Maintaining shrinkage controls to ensure profitability
Implementing security procedures to safeguard store assets and customers
Monitoring risk areas and taking appropriate action as needed
OHASA compliance
Maintaining the OHASA file and keeping meeting minutes. What you'll do:
Embody and communicate Mambo’s values and brand philosophy to customers and teammates
Support the store management team in efficiently running your store's operations
Manage scheduling, time-off, and payroll for all team members
Act as the in-store troubleshooting expert for administrative processes
Oversee stock management and processes
Coach team members through skills development and process training
Provide excellent customer service at all times
Offer direct feedback and support to teammates on the sales floor and operations team
Create an inclusive workplace culture, treating all teammates and customers with respect
**Who you are**:
You have over two years of experience in a management role at a customer-focused, operationally excellent retailer
You possess retail operations experience, including administrative tasks and stock management
You are confident in leading a team, overseeing operations, and driving sales performance
You hold yourself and others accountable, establishing trust among your direct reports
You are exceptionally organised and proactive
You work well in a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
You think outside the box and are a resourceful problem-solver
You can create and share a compelling vision that inspires your team
You are flexible and dependable, able to work varying schedules, including weekends and special events
