**Duties and Responsibilities**

**HSE & Quality**:

- **HSE Management**:

- Manage health, safety, and environmental responsibilities within the department.
- Ensure compliance with OSH Act and organisational standards.
- Identify and address workplace hazards and risks, and report unsafe conditions.
- Enforce standard operating procedures in line with health and safety requirements.
- **Quality & Food Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with the Foodstuffs Disinfectants and Cosmetics Act and relevant food legislation.
- Implement and improve internal procedures.
- Maintain compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).

**Finance/Procurement**:

- **Procurement Compliance**: Ensure procurement processes follow compliance guidelines to mitigate business risks.- **Supplier Relations**:

- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships. Liaise with suppliers to meet business objectives, negotiating terms where necessary.- **Contracts & Tenders**:

- Manage the approval process for contracts and tender submissions.
- Negotiate contract terms including pricing, lead times, and stock-holding.
- Administer contract documentation and maintain contract databases. Manage vendor evaluations and compliance with BBBEE regulations.- **Order Management**:

- Oversee operational procurement tasks including order creation, expediting overdue orders, and resolving discrepancies in the purchase cycle. Conduct RFQ sourcing and maintain vendor databases.- **Risk Management**:

- Identify procurement-related business risks and implement mitigation strategies. Maintain the risk register and test for effectiveness.- **Capex Management**:

- Manage CAPEX orders and provide procurement support for projects.
- Maintain and update CAPEX-related documentation.

**People Supervision**:

- **Team Leadership**:

- Supervise and guide the procurement team to achieve department objectives. Conduct performance management and ensure team alignment with procurement goals.- **Recruitment & Training**:

- Conduct probation reviews and support the development of team members through training and coaching.

**Reporting & Systems**:

- **Reporting**: Compile and present procurement reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- **System Improvement**:

- Review, analyse, and improve procurement systems and processes to drive efficiency and compliance.

**Requirements**:

- Matric.
- Tertiary qualification in procurement or relevant.
- 3 - 5 years experience in a related role within the food manufacturing environment.
- Procurement Process Expertise.
- SAP Systems Capability.
- Contract & Vendor Management.
- BBBEE Compliance & Knowledge of Supply Chain Logistics.
- Understanding of Food Safety & HACCP Principles.
- Customer Focus & Service Orientation.
- Accountability & Decision-Making.
- Teamwork, Team Building & Conflict Management.
- Communication & Problem-Solving Skills.
