Business Unit Director

**Role Summary**: - The Business Director will be responsible for the overall account management of a large retainer account including overseeing and managing elements within the account including but not limited to client service, eventing, production, activations, social media, creative, strategy and operations - The Business Unit Director will be responsible for the financial reporting and tracking of projects on an ongoing basis - Management of a big team across the above mentioned disciplines, dedicated to the account. including ensuring deadlines are met, quality of execution is exceptional, continuous and consistent management of all staff working across the sponsorship properties within the client portfolio. **Reporting Structure**: Reporting into the Managing Director **Key Responsibilities**: - Over all account management - Strategic Management - Rights Negotiation and Management - Relationship Management - Campaigns, Activations and / or Enhancement implementation and management - Partnership Management - Operational Management - Supplier Management - Event and Production Management - Project Management - Reporting and Meetings - Financial Management and budgeting - Staff Management - Process development and management **Main tasks and activities**: - Effectively manage the key deliverables to the client based on the contract or briefs - Development of Strategies with the Company Strategist, Public Relations, Social Media and Digital specialists - Ensuring the day to day management of the account and liaison with the client is managed - Event Management - Contract audits - Liaison with the various clubs and institutions - Organise and administer all sponsorship delivery activities as per the approved campaigns and as per the various contracts - Assisting with the development of campaigns, activities and enhancement plans - Responsible for financial management of the account and budgeting - Deliver excellent client service - Integration and communication with third parties (agencies / suppliers) - Identify opportunities on behalf of the client within the portfolio - Scheduling and planning - Risk Management - Reporting and presentations - Management of up to 15 staff members (direct and indirect line reporting) - General Administration **Experience**: - Previous experience of working in a client facing environment as a Business Director in the sponsorship industry. (**+5 years’ experience preferable**) - Experience of working within the South African sports environment is advantageous - Existing relationships within South African sports federations, unions and teams will be advantageous - Practical sponsorship account management/activation experience preferably in the sports industry - Excellent understanding and experience of management of sponsorship contracts - Project management experience is advantageous with clear evidence of delivery within structured timescales - Management experience. **Skills & Qualifications**: - Educated to degree level - preferable in a related discipline - Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. **Key Competencies**: - Creating a a cohesive Team Environment - Self-starter and ability to work independently - Logical thinker with strong problem solving skills - Confident and assertive - Building and Maintaining client Relationship - Extensive eventing and production experience - Listed above under experience - Planning and Control - must be able to manage multiple projects across different portfolios - Adapting to change and uncertainty - Communication and Influencing - Attention to Detail - Project Management **Other**: - Must have an interest, passion and understanding of soccer and rugby in South Africa and sport in general. - Understanding of how to use content, digital and social media effectively within sponsorships **Salary**: R900,000.00 - R950,000.00 per month Application Question(s): - Are you a Self-starter and have the ability to work independently?
