Sales Representative

North Safety Products Africa has a vacancy available for an experienced external sales representative.
**Summary of Position**:
To professionally sell service (take orders) and provide technical information and support to customer base and increase the customer base in a specific areas to maximise sales and profit whilst maintaining a high level of customers satisfaction and thereby improving the image and profitability of the company.
**Principal Accountabilities**
- Achievement of sales targets within set territories at the required profit parameters.
- Maintain a competitive edge in the market place by ensuring that a high level of customer product knowledge is achieved and maintained.
- Develop and implement plans to achieve or improve the area turnover target.
- Keep abreast of pricing and discount policies, trading terms and new products to meet customer requirements while ensuring company profitability.
- Deal with customer complaints efficiently and immediately to ensure that sales are not lost and ensure action is taken.
- Ensure that all administrative procedures are completed in time according to company standards.
**Performance Criteria Actions**
- All North Safety Sales Staff will be required to do minimum of 5 calls per day.
- Call planning will commence on Fridays of every week, sales staff will contact their customers and schedule meetings for the following week.
- Outlook calendar will be used at all times and calls will be recorded in your calendars, open calendars will be kept at all times for management and internal support teams to know where sales staff is at all times.
- Print out of “weekly” calendar to be submitted to branch manager at the end of every Friday for the following weeks calls.
- Any appointment cancelations to be amended in calendar and replaced with alternative customer call or cold call.
- A minimum of three site surveys per month will be required and submitted within your weekly reports.
- Fridays will be reserved for training, planning and interaction with fellow staff. All sales staff to be in office on Fridays, exceptions will only be made if an order needs to be attended to and at the discretion of the Branch Manager.
**Call Reports**
- Call reports supplied by management will be completed on a daily basis.
- All required information as per call report must be filled in with all relevant information patenting to the customers appointment.
- Full Call Report booklets “to be filed and kept at individual branches.
- Failure to complete and submit required call reports will result into disciplinary action, also note that it will have an effect on your individual KPI’s.
- Call reports will be submitted to Branch Manager every Friday, with representative’s signature to confirm call activity and signed by Branch Manager confirming receipt.
- Submission date will be completed on submission day, documents will be scanned and forwarded onto Branch Manager on a weekly basis
**Monthly Sales Meeting**
- Monthly sales meetings will be conducted with all branches and sales representatives.
- Meetings will take place on Fridays and no exceptions will be made, full attendance expected.
- Branch Managers to present sales figures, short falls and gap closers for their branches.
- Sales Representatives will present their individual sales performances, short falls and gap closure plans.
- This information will be recorded and monitored.
- Sales meetings will be done via conference facility and on some occasions at individual branches.
- Sales meeting dates to be communicated.
**Training**
- All training will be arranged by Branch Manager
- Training will commence on Fridays and central points will be identified to conduct training, conference facilities will also be used to reduce cost.
- All sales staff to attend all training sessions.
**Field Work**
- Field work will be conducted by Branch Manager with every individual sales representative of each branch.
- Constructive calls to be scheduled by sales representative, no courtesy calls
- New customers and challenging customer, objective is to offer support and guidance.
- One site survey per sales representative is compulsory during these calls.
- No exceptions will be made or accepted.
- Field work dates will be communicated to Branch Managers in advance to insure preparation time.
- SPOT CALLS - UN announced joint customer calls will be made at any time with National Commercial Manager
**Skills required**:
- Sales Representative with +5-6 years external sales experience
- Must have sales experience in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Valid driver’s license un-endorsed and own vehicle
**Education Requirements**
- NQF level 4 - Matric/ Qualification in Sales and Marketing
- Any other work experience related qualifications
