**Group Head of Employee Relations**

**_ your purpose_**

Mr Price Group is looking for a motivated and passionate partner, who will be responsible for the development, implementation and administration of compliant employee relations programs and policies to ensure that staffing strategies are aligned to corporate goals and that the relationship between the company, its employees and unions are optimized.

**_ your responsibilities:_**

**Employee Grievances**

Liaise with functional or operational area managers, employees, and their representatives to investigate and resolve employee grievances and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence to maintain a productive and harmonious workplace.

**Training & Development**

Advise and train managers and supervisors to help ensure that all employer-employee relationships in the organization are conducted in a way that complies with relevant collective agreements, individual employment contracts, regulations, laws, and the organization's employment policies and standards.

**Research, Compliance & Reporting**

Analyse and interpret bargaining trends and issues, as well as employment standards, regulations, and laws to understand how this impacts the organization and adapt employee relations practices as appropriate.

Stay abreast of compliance status throughout all employee relation areas to update and report to the larger group.

**Legal Representation**

Represent management in negotiations and dispute resolution procedures with employees, unions, employer bodies, government agencies, labour relations authorities, and other relevant agencies so that the organization's interests are protected.

Prepare materials for legal counsel, mediators, and external consultants and manage these relationships to ensure the organization's interests are well-represented.

**Team Management**

Ensure that the workload within the team is distributed fairly and in line with the team's priorities to deliver on departmental KPI's / targets.

Drive succession, training and development within the team to ensure resource capability and business continuity. Maintain a healthy and culturally aligned team.

**Financial Management**

Develop a departmental budget and monitor/control spending in order to deliver strategy, prioritising projects in line with strategic intent.

Collaborate with Group HR management team to ensure financial feasibility where there are departmental/project overlaps - where the primary financial responsibility sits in another department, there is always a secondary responsibility to deliver within budget.

**_ what are the requirements?_**
- University Degree (LLB)
- 10 years' labour law experience
- An Admitted Attorney
- Corporate Health & Safety experience
- High proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Deadline driven and able to work under pressure
- Report compilation
- Negotiation skills
- Assertive
- Excellent judgment is essential
- Self-motivated, proactive and can work independently
- Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people, including Board Members, Senior Executives, Department of labour, unions etc
