AfricArena is an African tech accelerator that runs Corporate Open Innovation challenges throughout the African continent.

AfricArena has the privilege of operating in three key spheres that underpin Africa’s economic landscape. These being: tech startups, corporations, and investors (i.e. angel investors, VCs, CVCs and other institutional investors).

**About The Role**:
**Responsibilities**
- Research, build and qualifying a Startup network and pipeline, both across the continent and globally.
- Working with startups from Pre-seed to Series B within the tech ecosystem
- Creating systems, tools, and practices enables our portfolio ventures to raise funding successfully
- Support in building relationships to strengthen our partnership referral network across the continent
- Assist in the carrying out of financial, legal, and commercial due diligence for investments
- Contribute to investment team meetings and document call notes
- Source and close speaking opportunities for team members
- Administrative support for sourcing team i.e. writing reports, tracking and reporting sourcing market trends, drafting presentations etc.
- Make direct introductions and help founders strategically engage with potential investors.
- Maintain a community of startups
- Provide deal flow support to startups
- Matchmaking between Investors and startups
- Plan and manage logistics at VC unconference events across the continent
- Pipeline management
- Lead and manage the Startup Alumni community with investment opportunity and latest news.

**Africarise**
- Involvement in all aspects of due diligence on new investments (business analysis, industry)
- sourcing investments, competitive landscape, business/pricing model, and financial modelling/deal structuring)
- Contract management
- Business Development & Problem Solving abilities.

**AfricArena**
- Support with sourcing Startups and participants at events
- Support in securing partnerships and sponsorships for the AfricArena tour
- Support in Logistics

Experience, Formal qualifications, and Knowledge
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a venture capital fund, accelerator, incubator or a start-up, preferably in Africa/ emerging markets
- BCom Finance or similar/equivalent
- Data analytics certification
- Strong qualitative research skills and knowledge of various platforms and databases used within VC
- Knowledge and Prior experience of building financial models (advantage)
- Startup mindset - enthusiasm for and interest in technology and start-up
