Our client based in Roodepoort has opportunity for a IT Support Technician in Gauteng Operation and wish to invite all suitable qualified applicants to submit their details for consideration. The incumbent reporting to the Finance Executive , will be expected to take responsibility of IT and related matters on the site.

The duties for this position include , but are not limited to:

- Network Administration;
- Installation of PC Software;
- Constant auditing to ensure that valid licenses exist for all software on all PCs;
- Ensure required back-up is kept of Data;
- Organising and maintaining of e-mail/domain facilities including internet access;
- Maintain the time and attendance system, PABX system, WIFI network, bar code scanning facility/requirements, the security system including cameras, Bizhubs and TVs;
- Maintain an anti-virus strategy and ensure that virus checker updates are downloaded;
- Handle problems with PCs;
- Filing and other administrative duties;
- Trouble shooting;
- Assist with IT CAPEX;
- Safekeeping and control over all IT equipment ;
- Administer cell and landline phone contracts;
- Regular verification of all assets( including IT ) on a quarterly basis;

To be considered for the position you should meet at least the following essential criteria:

- Matric/N3 level academic qualification;
- MCSE for server and desktops;
- Experience of MS Exchange;
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Oracle will be advantageous;
- A+ certificate;
- N+ certificate;
- The ability to dismantle and replace faulty PC hardware components is necessary;
- Ability to remove and load Operating Systems;
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work;
- High level of computer literacy namely in MS office is required;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Multi-tasking and advanced problem solving skills are necessary;
- Knowledge of UPS equipment;
- Capable of learning and keeping abreast of IT changes and developments.
