We are seeking an exceptional Academic Psychometrist to join our team at Nelson Mandela University. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and stimulating environment, contributing to the development of students in the field of Psychology.
Job Summary:
The Academic Psychometrist will be responsible for teaching and facilitating learning in various modules within the Department of Psychology. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement assessment strategies, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education. Your expertise in psychometry will be essential in providing guidance and support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lecturing and Assessment: Develop and deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions for students. Design and implement assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Research and Supervision: Collaborate with colleagues on research projects, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, and provide guidance on their research endeavors.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to psychometry students, ensuring they receive expert guidance in their practice.
- Administrative Duties: Contribute to departmental administrative tasks, including academic planning, committee duties, and community engagement activities.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification
- An accredited four-year Bachelors degree in Psychology (BPsych) or a BPsych Equivalent in Psychology or related field
- Registration with the HPCSA as an independent Psychometrist for a minimum of 3 years and currently active
- Excellent knowledge base in Psychometry
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of R800,000 - R1,200,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including medical aid, retirement fund, and study leave opportunities.
