About the Role
As a Medical Imaging Specialist at Mediclinic International, you will be responsible for operating radiology equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that aid in the diagnosis of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate radiology equipment, including X-ray machines and CT scanners, to produce accurate and comprehensive images.
- Assist Radiologists with procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Implement radiation protection measures to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Maintain accurate records of examinations performed, adhering to SAHPRA Regulations.
- Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety, applying the ALARA Principle.
- Perform quality control tests as per SAHPRA Regulations, guaranteeing optimal equipment performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain modality stock control and ordering of consumables.
- Support billing and procedural processes, utilizing ICD-10 codes effectively.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of Community Service within the relevant field of work.
- Desirable: 2 years' experience in private practice and a Certificate in Mammography.
