Isilumko Staffing (JHB) is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth execution of transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Coordinate the receipt of transport orders from clients and ensure all relevant information is gathered.
  • Assist in developing weekly delivery plans based on client requirements.
  • Arrange deliveries of containers to clients' facilities.
  • Ensure timely deliveries and collections of clients' containers.
  • Prepare and provide transporters with delivery instructions when outsourcing.
  • Monitor port bookings and container availability.
  • Identify carrier facilities for empty container turn-ins.
  • Allocate free days to customers and ensure turn-ins occur within the allocated timeframe.

Container Tracking and Management:

  • Allocate container tracking information to drivers based on container specifications.
  • Ensure drivers receive all necessary documentation for port and customer signage.
  • Send instructions to drivers through the container tracking system for acceptance and action.

Customer Communication and Support:

  • Provide regular updates to clients regarding vessel and container status.
  • Follow up on the status of vessels and containers.
  • Resolve escalated issues promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain professional and effective customer service at all times.

Requirements:

  • Matric or equivalent qualification - required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and industry - required
  • Experience with logistics or transportation industry systems - advantageous
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel - advantageous
