SAICA Audit Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SAICA Audit Clerk to join our team at Perfect Placement Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting audits of financial statements, compiling financial statements, and performing independent reviews of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting audits of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compiling financial statements to provide a clear and transparent picture of a company's financial position.
  • Performing independent reviews of financial statements to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Processing invoices and bank transactions to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Reconciling bank accounts, debtors, and creditors to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing VAT reconciliations and submitting VAT201 returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Managing SARS VAT reviews and audits to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Preparing management accounts to provide a clear and transparent picture of a company's financial performance.
  • Maintaining up-to-date SAICA assessment progress to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 with strong marks in Accounting and Mathematics, currently pursuing a SAICA-accredited accounting degree.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Proficiency in financial software (Pastel/Sage Online/Xero); familiarity with Draftworx is advantageous.
  • Excellent computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to new software and technologies.
  • Capability to manage high volumes of work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Being fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans will be advantageous.
