We are seeking a SAICA Audit Clerk to join our team at Perfect Placement Recruitment. As a SAICA Audit Clerk, you will be responsible for conducting audits of financial statements, compiling financial statements, and performing independent reviews of financial statements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting audits of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  2. Compiling financial statements to present a clear picture of the company's financial position.
  3. Performing independent reviews of financial statements to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  4. Processing invoices and bank transactions to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  5. Reconciling bank accounts, debtors, and creditors to prevent any discrepancies.
  6. Preparing VAT reconciliations and submitting VAT201 returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  7. Managing SARS VAT reviews and audits to minimize any potential issues.
  8. Preparing management accounts to provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of the company's financial performance.
  9. Maintaining up-to-date SAICA assessment progress to ensure continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with strong marks in Accounting and Mathematics, currently pursuing a SAICA-accredited accounting degree.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software (Pastel/Sage Online/Xero); familiarity with Draftworx is advantageous.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
  • Excellent computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional demeanour.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to new software and technologies.
  • Capability to manage high volumes of work under pressure and meet deadlines.
