About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced sales and marketing leader to join our team in Eastern Cape. As a Strategic Sales and Marketing Leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain sales and marketing plans to achieve business objectives
  • Lead and manage a team of sales representatives to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet their targets
  • Implement and align marketing plans with regional plans and submit to management for approval
  • Review and update strategic plans on a regular basis to ensure they remain relevant and effective
  • Compile reports on progress made on strategic plans and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Communicate strategic plans to sales representatives and stakeholders
  • Perform recruitment and selection processes for sales representatives
  • Advertise and market representative positions through presentations
  • Select applicants in accordance with FSCA requirements and implement assessment selection batteries
  • Conduct training to sales representatives on sales techniques and product knowledge
  • Facilitate pre-course and post-course training to ensure sales representatives are equipped with the necessary skills
  • Responsible for on-the-job assessments of representatives to evaluate their performance
  • Coach representatives on improving their selling skills and providing technical support
  • Provide recognition through performance management systems
  • Ensure brokers are equipped with sufficient office documentation, such as application forms
  • Handle administration queries on behalf of dedicated brokers
  • Check business methods of dedicated brokers and advise accordingly
  • Update brokers on Assupol products and services regularly
  • Ensure computer software of brokers is up-to-date in respect of Assupol products and services
  • Build professional business relationships with brokers
  • Identify and develop new and current markets
  • Negotiate stop order markets
  • Maintain contacts with key decision-makers and insurance industry resources (new and existing)
  • Retain and increase market share in existing markets
  • Manage business retention
  • Conduct product presentations in the market
  • Maintain production targets and retain business
  • Ensure and monitor set production targets are achieved
  • Maintain business retention
  • Comply with FAIS requirements
  • Supervise representatives when rendering services under supervision
  • Submit supervision evidence to MSSI on a monthly basis
  • Mentor and train supervisees to ensure they have a proper understanding of products
  • Observe meetings between representatives and clients
  • Compliance and complaints management
  • Training and awareness programs
  • Record of advice and financial needs analysis
  • Completion of application forms and other administrative tasks
  • Adhere to code of conduct, TCF, and risk and audit requirements
  • Display values and culture and provide leadership to your team

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate
  • Relevant qualification recognized by the FSCA
  • Technical/legal certification
  • Regulatory Examination Level 5: Representatives
  • Regulatory Examination Level 1: Key Individuals
  • Class of Business (Long Term Insurance and Investments) depending on date of appointment as Key Individual in the industry
  • CPD
  • 1 year management and oversight experience in categories A, B1, B2, C, B1-A, B2-A, and retail pension funds
  • 2 years project management experience
  • 2 years insurance industry experience
  • At least 1 year advice and intermediary experience in categories A, B1, B2, C, B1-A, B2-A, and retail pension funds
