**Job Description**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the Northern Mozambique displacement response. The successful candidate will oversee the management of response activities, ensuring they align with Plan International's standard policies and procedures.

The role involves leading rapid needs assessments, focusing on children's and girls' specific needs, and providing recommendations to the Country Director and senior management team on programming options and priorities.

**Responsibilities**

  • Oversee the management of the Northern Mozambique displacement response, ensuring response activities align with Plan International's standard policies and procedures.
  • Lead rapid needs assessments, focusing on children's and girls' specific needs, and provide recommendations to the Country Director and senior management team on programming options and priorities.
  • Select local partner organizations, ensuring alignment with Plan International's approach and programming priorities in humanitarian crises.
  • Provide support to program technical specialists to ensure high-quality programs have a direct positive impact on affected children.

**Requirements**

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Disaster Risk Management, humanitarian studies, international development, international relations, social studies, agriculture, public health, or similar field.
  • Demonstrated experience of key practice and standards for humanitarian response such as SPHERE and CHS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively on area of expertise, and influence others to reach common goals.
  • Proven experiences and ability to coordinate and collaborate with different organizations including the government and demonstrable working experience in development programme.
  • Demonstrated track record of proposal writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.

**Desirable Qualifications**

  • Post graduate qualification in managing rapid and slow onset disasters, disaster risk reduction; conflict analysis; humanitarian response, climate adaptation; and program management including result-based monitoring and evaluation.
