About the Job

This role is focused on assisting in the pharmacy department with various tasks related to the sales, compounding, and preparation of medicines. You will work closely with pharmacists to provide quality patient care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Customer Service: Assist customers with purchasing Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances.
  • Compounding and Preparation: Compound, manipulate, or prepare non-sterile medicines or scheduled substances according to approved formulas and standard operating procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Distribute and control stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances.
  • Patient Communication: Give accurate instructions to patients regarding correct medicine use and explain medical aid costs to patients.
  • System Administration: Capture script details accurately, verify patients' details on the system, and maintain customer profiles on the system.

Requirements:

  • Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
  • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Working experience on Unisolv.
  • Computer literacy – MS Office.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Good command of English and a second language.
  • Ability to work retail hours.
