We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Meat and Fish Handler at MSC Cruises. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of raw and frozen meat and fish items.
Key Responsibilities:- Temperature Control: Regularly check all refrigerators in the section for performance, physical condition, and temperatures, and report any irregularities immediately to the Chief Butcher.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize all refrigerator shelves, gaskets, and interiors, as well as all food contact surfaces, including worktops, can openers, knives, and other implements.
- Food Storage: Ensure correct and compliant food storage in the section, including covering, labeling, and dating all food items.
- Food Preparation: Wash and prepare all meat and fish items according to company standards and guidelines.
- Quality Control: Report any discrepancies in meat or fish quality and specification to the Chief Butcher.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure seamless food preparation and service.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and comply with all MSC Sanitation standards relating to food safety, including temperatures, sanitation, storage, labeling, and cross-contamination prevention measures.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 year of work experience in a similar position.
- Skills: Demonstrated understanding and practical knowledge of food safety, proven ability to work in a harmonious and productive team environment, and excellent communication skills.
