Cloud Data Architecture Specialist

PBT Group is seeking a skilled Cloud Data Architecture Specialist to lead the design, development, and operationalization of large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based data architectures using AWS services such as Glue, Step-functions, Kafka CC, PySpark, DynamoDB, Delta.io, RedShift, Lambda, and DeltaLake.
  • Analyze and re-platform on-premise data warehouses to cloud-based data platforms using AWS or 3rd party services and Kafka CC.
  • Develop production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within big data architectures, utilizing Java, PySpark, Scala, and Kafka CC.
  • Implement data engineering, ingestion, and curation functions on AWS cloud using AWS native or custom programming.
  • Perform thorough assessments of current state data platforms and create transition paths to AWS cloud.
  • Design and support analytical data infrastructures providing ad-hoc access to large datasets and computing power.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources using SQL, AWS big data technologies, and Kafka CC.
  • Create and support real-time data pipelines built on AWS technologies including Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, PySpark, Athena, and Kafka CC.

Requirements:

  • Advanced working knowledge of data engineering and experience with modern data practices, using Delta.io, CDC management, and data load practices.
  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
  • Experience with big data tools: Delta.io, PySpark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Step functions, Glue workflow, etc.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.

PBT Group offers a competitive salary range based on location and experience. The estimated salary range provided above is an approximation and may vary depending on individual circumstances.
