Main Responsibilities

The Financial Management Specialist will be responsible for capturing, processing, and reporting financial data. Key tasks include:

  • Capturing monthly journals and posting to the general ledger
  • Recording salaries, leave provision, overtime, and other expenses
  • Revaluing debtors and creditors at month-end
  • Daily invoicing and maintaining employee electronic files

Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance

The Financial Management Specialist must ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Key responsibilities include:

  • Verifying batch books against QuickBooks-generated income statements
  • Preparing customer statements
  • Processing insurance matters and housing invoices

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess:

  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should have a minimum qualification of Matric (grade 12) and 5 years' experience as a Bookkeeper or similar position. A Diploma and/or Degree in Bookkeeping is essential.
