Job Title: Sales Engineer
Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth in the merchant gases business unit for Air Products South Africa Limited. This position involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, while also maintaining and expanding the company's existing customer base in the KZN region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Generate growth in company sales through prospecting for new clients and meeting set sales targets.
- Steward current accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to enhance Air Products' market presence.
- Ensure adherence to company SHERQ procedures and policies at customer sites, including relevant legislation.
- Perform sales administrative duties and undertake general ad-hoc tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Maths, Accounting, Science, English, and Afrikaans.
- Recognised Certificate or Diploma in Sales and Marketing.
- Minimum 5 years' sales experience in the gas, chemical, or technical industry.
- A valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver's licence.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to produce written reports on sales activities and strong communication skills.
- Excellent people and negotiation skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.
- Knowledge of welding, specialty gases, fabrication, bulk processes, and applications to provide gas solutions to the market.
