Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at HR Genie. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and detailing small special purpose applications, establishing effective design solutions, and specifying components for procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and detailing of small special purpose applications
  • Establishing effective design solutions to achieve required specifications
  • Specifying components for procurement
  • Detailing of designs in conjunction with senior design engineers
  • ECR designs and detailing for small fixtures and tools
  • Assembly assistance during the assembly phase of the project
  • Creating design release packages for manufacturing purposes
  • Complying with ISO procedures regarding project handover, concept development, design realization, and design sign-off

Requirements:

  • Formal tertiary education in mechanical engineering or mechatronics
  • Driver's license with code 8
  • Proficiency in English, Afrikaans, and German (advantageous)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a design capacity
  • Competence in concept development, design calculations, and FMEAs
  • Basic machine calculations and FEA experience
  • Basic understanding of material specification and processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Employees from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act
