Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Professional to join our team at Staff Solutions Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products.

Responsibilities
  • Create innovative concepts and translate them into software models and product drawings
  • Perform engineering calculations for sizing of products and parts, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Organize and maintain existing engineering records and ISO standards
  • Conduct physical testing on engineering prototypes to validate design and functionality
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs using AutoCAD and PowerPoint, presented to customers for sign-off
  • Research new materials and methods of development to improve product performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with manufacturing workshop to detail mechanical drawings and ensure smooth production processes
  • Obtain quotations for project parts and track receiving dates
  • Ensure components and assemblies meet applicable industry and business standards
  • Prepare detailed mechanical site installation plans
  • Plan and execute projects from conception to completion
  • Develop maintenance, procedure manuals, and spares and wear lists for facilities
  • Recommission and commission equipment as needed
  • Be available for standby and callouts as required
Requirements
  • Tertiary education is essential for this role
  • Project management skills are critical in this position
  • A strong focus on quality and analysing information is necessary
  • Emphasizing excellence in all aspects of work is expected
  • Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes is required
  • Conceptualising designs for various specialised machines is a key skill
  • Analysing information and attention to detail are essential
  • SolidWorks 3D/Inventor CAD software is essential for this role
  • AutoCAD 2D software proficiency is also required
  • A strong understanding of current cutting tool technology is necessary
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design is preferred
Benefits and Remuneration

The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
