Our client is seeking a skilled Production Manager to join their team at HR Genie. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing production processes and ensuring efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning: The Production Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining production plans, ensuring they align with business objectives and priorities.
  • Machine Uptime: The candidate must ensure that unplanned downtime is minimized, with a goal of less than 60 minutes per shift per machine.
  • Workflow Optimization: The Production Manager will analyze and improve the workflow within the production unit, eliminating bottlenecks and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Production Targets: The ideal candidate will oversee the production of 37 tons of product per day or 35 tons per night, maintaining high quality standards.
  • Quality Management: The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the quality management system, ensuring audit results exceed 90% and adhering to HACCP and AIB standards.
  • Employee Management: The candidate will manage employee attendance, address individual problem areas, and ensure employees are appropriately trained and utilized to their full potential.
  • Training and Development: The Production Manager will conduct performance assessments, provide feedback, and develop training plans to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Communication: The ideal candidate will facilitate effective communication among shifts, supervisors, and employees, ensuring a smooth handover of information and daily priorities.
  • Initiative and Improvement: The Production Manager will demonstrate initiative in identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and increasing production outputs while reducing costs.
  • Health and Safety: The candidate will oversee the maintenance of health and safety processes, ensuring compliance with OHSA, HACCP, and other relevant standards.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A diploma or degree in Production, Management, or Business Management (NQF level 6 or above) is preferred.
  • Experience: The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in the FMCG industry, with a strong understanding of production functions and processes.
