The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paper/tissue making and a proven track record of ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Control the movement of vehicles, products, and pedestrians in the yard area to minimize the risk of incidents.
  • Apply and enforce general safety regulations and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Assist trucks, own, and third-party vehicles while reversing in the yard and between the Mill and the warehouse.
  • Monitor the loading and offloading of trucks, ensuring safe practices and keeping pedestrians clear of vehicles and machinery.
  • Control the flow of trucks and communicate with security to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure man and machine separation where possible.
  • Control and manage the area and cores received from suppliers and the factory, as well as the core stands to ship cores back from converting.
  • Manage the pallet area, waste area, and ensure the wastebins are emptied when needed.
  • Ensure the safe stacking of pulp in the yard area and in designated areas.
  • Perform daily checks on stacked pulp to ensure safety.
  • Maintain optimal housekeeping in the yard area and ensure customer service standards are met.
  • Supervise customer and company staff in all yard operations.
  • Monitor loading of materials to ensure safe transfer to other stores.
  • Coordinate with other departments and investigate accidents and identify the root cause of damage.
  • Liaise with Security and assist with CCTV investigations and compiling evidence for accidents and incidents.

This is a challenging role that requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
