SolarQuest, a leading renewable energy company in South Africa, is seeking an experienced and certified Electrician with a Wireman's License to join our team as a Renewable Energy Professional.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Electrician who can install, maintain, and repair solar power systems. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards.

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing solar power systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will conduct electrical inspections to identify and troubleshoot system issues, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and regulations.

The selected candidate will collaborate with project managers and team members to plan and execute solar installations in residential and commercial settings. They will perform electrical wiring and connections, ensuring proper grounding and system integrity, and test and commission solar systems to verify functionality, performance, and safety.

As a key member of our team, the Renewable Energy Professional will diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions in solar power systems, provide technical guidance to customers, and complete necessary paperwork and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair solar power systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Conduct electrical inspections to identify and troubleshoot system issues, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and regulations.

Requirements
  • Valid South African Wireman's License is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably with specialization in solar power systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficient in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Estimated Salary Range

R 450,000 - R 550,000 per annum.
