Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to join our Corporate Investment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operational functions and processes, including investment operations, policy administration, compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial reporting: Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to management.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Work closely with the Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Governance, and Compliance department to ensure best practice compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Support the Head of Operations in acting as an intermediary between the business and stakeholders on engagements such as vendor management, outsource agreements, corporate finance, and risk compliance matters.
  • Facilitate information gathering for projects and requests from the Group Office.
  • Operational Process: Assist the Head of Operations in identifying gaps, designing, and ensuring optimal operational processes and controls to ensure delivery in line with SLAs.
  • Operations Management: Provide support to the operations area in new business implementation, client policies, and investment operations.
  • Work closely with the Pensioner administration team on pensioner onboarding and monthly valuation.
  • Assist in the budget preparation and monitoring process as well as managing the expenses process.
  • Work with the Head of Operations on driving a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence throughout the business.
  • Systems: Evaluate existing processes, systems, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Requirements
  • BCom Accounting Honours (Postgraduate Business or Investment qualification beneficial).
  • CA (SA) required.
  • 1-3 years of working experience, with experience in working with retirement funds or investment administration exposure highly preferred.
  • Experience working with IFRS 17 advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Proven experience in asset management and insurance.
