About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team, contributing to the maintenance of high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within our bakery facilities. As a Basket Management Assistant - Traywash Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient supply of baskets to our production lines, while also maintaining accurate records of stock levels and rotations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage basket stocks and stock rotation, ensuring optimal levels are maintained to meet production demands.
  • Assist with the unloading and loading of baskets from trailers and rigids, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Regularly remove and dispose of waste from bins from beside the S bend trash removal system, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with despatch and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination and support.
  • Highlight any basket supply issues to relevant departments as soon as possible, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to production.
  • Report any problems or issues during night shifts immediately to the Manufacturing FLM, prioritizing health and safety above all else.
  • Operate within all work instructions and procedures, adhering to company policies and protocols.
  • Raise any suggestions for improvements with the hygiene FLM's and Manager, driving continuous improvement and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Tidy as you go, ensuring the work area remains clean, safe, and meets agreed standards in hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Undertake regular cleaning of equipment, adhering to internal standards and protocols.
  • Carry out duties with due care and attention, using tools provided in a responsible and safe manner.
  • Report any damage or unsafe tools/machinery to the Hygiene FLM's or Manager, prioritizing health and safety.
  • Wear and use all protective clothing as required, ensuring personal safety and adherence to company protocols.
  • Ensure there is always 2 staff at the traywash at all times, promoting teamwork and collaborative working practices.
Requirements
  • FLT counterbalance licence is essential for this role.
  • Prior experience in a similar industry or environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this position.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload and priorities.
