Job Summary
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and performance of GCC systems, including air conditioning, electrical reticulation, compressors, fire detection systems, autoclaves, and packing equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective operation and maintenance of GCC systems, including regular checks and repairs as needed.
- Participate in annual budgeting activities and ensure sufficient supply of spare parts while maintaining low stock levels.
- Analyze machine utilization and suggest improvement measures using the SPC method.
- Maintain an effective and efficient administration system.
- Identify risks and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents and incidents.
- Develop world-class performance concepts through continuous improvement and the SPC system.
- Liaise with external authorities on issues affecting the department, such as municipality, suppliers, consultants, and government departments.
- Ensure that building and facilities are timeously maintained.
- Comply with OHS Act measures to limit accidents and incidents.
- Manage apprentice training according to the apprentice training program and facilitate training activities.
- Facilitate technical training for artisans, mechanics, and employees.
- Deal with training agencies to book training courses and receive updates on progress.
- Use SPC to establish and report on machine differences and eliminate them.
- Perform cost analysis and report cost trends, recommending improvements.
