Your key responsibilities as the Senior Compliance Expert will include:

  • Supporting our client in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations by offering advice and support to the business.
  • Reporting significant compliance or non-compliance issues, including irregular activities or potential policy/system issues, to the Managing Director or other stakeholders. Leading investigations and remediation actions promptly.
  • Developing and maintaining a robust compliance and governance framework within the business.
  • Ensuring that all necessary controls are in place to manage risk effectively within the organization.
  • Providing guidance on necessary controls and systems to ensure compliance.
  • Overseeing commercial and legal agreements.
  • Implementing relevant Acts and regulations.
  • Developing and implementing Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs).
  • Assessing the potential impact of regulatory developments on business operations.
  • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to relevant standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Facilitating effective communication with internal parties, ensuring coordinated coverage of compliance risks across departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing conditions and codes of practice for the company's licenses.
  • Communicating with regulatory authorities as needed to represent the company's interests.
  • Conducting regular monitoring of compliance risks.
  • Maintaining close working relationships with third-party companies involved in the business's licensed activities.
  • Performing other ad hoc duties as required.
  • Reviewing marketing materials, presentations, and websites to ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

A BCom Law or LLB degree, with a postgraduate qualification in Law being advantageous. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Legal & Compliance role, proficiency in interacting with third-party regulators and licensing bodies, familiarity with the online gambling industry, experience in gambling regulatory compliance, in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and practices.

We offer a competitive salary of R800,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, and a benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement fund contributions, and paid time off.
