We are seeking a seasoned Reporting and Compliance Expert to join our team at Merand Corbett & Associates.

Job Description

As a Reporting and Compliance Expert, you will be responsible for delivering successful Group and local statutory audits. You will manage internal teams and ensure compliance with IFRS standards. Your expertise will drive improvements in group reporting capabilities and support the development of best-in-class reporting practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project manage internal teams to ensure timely data delivery.
  • Own Group consolidation and related internal and external reporting.
  • Support the development of best-in-class reporting practices.
  • Work with FP&A and accounting teams to develop Group reporting projects.
  • Lead on accounting issues, new developments, and be a reference for divisional finance teams.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS, including drafting accounting policy notes and guidance.
  • Design and implement an effective Group reporting tool.
  • Consult on effective controls across Group processes.
  • Submit various statutory or regulatory obligations for Group entities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • CA(SA) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven track record in reporting and technical accounting, with experience from a strong training background with Big 4 or another leading audit firm.
  • A minimum of 3+ years post CA qualification.
  • Experience with multi-national and multi-currency Group structures, preferably across the African continent, UK, and/or other Holdco territories.
  • Experience reporting in highly regulated or listed company environments.
  • Strong technical accounting background and ability to draft accounting policy guidance.
  • Proven track record in building strong controls best practice.
  • Advanced time management and organisational skills.
  • Developed team management skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
