Job Title: Road Marker Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Road Marker Operator to join our team in the Western Cape Government. As a key member of our road maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate line marking machines to apply road markings and signs
  • Conduct pre-inspection and post-surveying of routes to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Supervise subordinates in hand-painting of road marks and ad-hoc road maintenance activities
  • Ensure the safeguarding of work areas and construction machines in accordance with Health and Safety Act
Requirements:
  • Grade certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Valid code EC driving license with professional driving permit (PDP)
Competencies:
  • Knowledge of safety standards and road safety
  • Experience in various road marking standards
  • Skills in report writing, communication, and teamwork
Remuneration:

R per annum (Salary level 4)

Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees are funded or co-funded in terms of applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Selection Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and undergo criminal record vetting. They will also be required to attend interviews and may undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests.
