Job Requirements

A Grade certificate or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience are required. The holder of a valid code EC driving license with a professional driving permit (PDP) is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outline new or faded invisible road marks
  • Spray lines with the aid of a road mark machine and aids
  • Undertake pre-inspection of routes and post-surveying of completed lengths sprayed in terms of costing and quality assurance
  • Supervise subordinates with hand painting of road marks as well as ad-hoc road maintenance activities
  • Safeguard work areas and construction machines in terms of the Health and Safety Act

Important Skills and Knowledge

  • Safety standards and road safety
  • All different standards of road marking
  • Standards w.r.t different types of road mark points, glass beads and the application thereof
  • Report writing
  • Communication (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • High concentration ability for long periods of time

Remuneration and Benefits

R per annum (Salary level 4)

Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
