About the Role

TalentCru is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business partners, ensuring timely and accurate implementation of transactions, and optimizing cashflow collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management
    • Allocate business partners' portfolios to manage, including complex, technical, and high-value business partners.
    • Identify business partners with underperforming portfolios and develop strategies to improve performance.
  • Monitoring and Counselling
    • Provide monitoring and counselling services to business partners to ensure they meet contractual and underwriting obligations.
    • Conduct regular reviews, including client visits and risk rating assignments.
  • Early Warning Signals and Intervention
    • Proactively identify early warning signals and initiate intervention processes where necessary.
  • Contract and Security Management
    • Ensure timely execution of contract amendments and security releases.
  • Cashflow Collection and Forecasting
    • Monitor and follow up on payments due to the organization, including interest, capital, and fees.
    • Analyze financial information from business partners and assess the need for intervention.
  • Client Value Maximization and Loss Limitation
    • Maximize client value and limit losses by considering eventual exiting of investments.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • BCom Accounting with a postgraduate degree or similar 4-year undergraduate qualification with finance experience.
    • CA (SA) would be an advantage.
  • Experience
    • At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in post-investment monitoring, portfolio management, or business partner relationship management.
    • Experience in portfolio management, restructurings, due diligence, drawdowns, and financial modelling.
  • Skills
    • Sound experience in a financial environment.
    • Skills in financial statement analysis and interpretation.
    • Good understanding of business risks and security types.
