Job Description:

Our client, a multinational manufacturing company focused on road surfacing and construction projects, seeks to employ a professional manager to oversee workshops and construction equipment across South Africa, Namibia, and Zambia.

This highly specialized role requires a candidate with experience in managing equipment maintenance in a chemical processing or related industry, preferably road surfacing and slurry products. The ideal candidate will also have excellent leadership skills, international reporting abilities, and strong communication skills with European stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  1. You must have completed a Mechanical Engineering qualification, coupled with at least 10 years of experience in managing group assets such as road surfacing equipment, transportation vehicles, and company workshop processes and procedures.
  2. A strong background in motivating and mentoring a diverse team is essential, ensuring Hazchem and environmental legislation is upheld, and branches are accurate in terms of asset licensing, insurances/claims management, and workshop documentation management.
  3. You should have a solid track record in people management and development, providing technical support to teams.
  4. Experience in providing technical support, key supplier management, and monitoring the scheduling servicing of equipment/fleet is crucial.
  5. Sound working experience of HSE, Quality (ISO 9001 and 14001), budget management, and departmental and international reporting is essential.
  6. A valid driver's license, car ownership, and a clear criminal and credit record are mandatory.
