Job Title: Implementation & Continuous Improvement Manager

Join Assign Services (Pty) Ltd as we seek a highly skilled Implementation & Continuous Improvement Manager to drive process improvements and implement programs that will have long-term benefits.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing plans, schedules, and budgets for projects to improve existing processes. They will also identify and deliver service improvement activities through the application of innovative thinking and process improvement methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the supply chain implementation functions, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • Analyze and provide best solutions for new distribution bids, ensuring optimal cost savings and efficiency.
  • Develop business plans for ongoing distribution bids, aligning with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the operations handover, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Handover to sales for servicing, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Deliver training to clients and staff, educating them on new processes and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Ensure daily inbounds and outbound reports are submitted to the National Supply Chain Manager, maintaining accurate records and tracking progress.
  • Update various WMS systems regularly, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Liaise with customers and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
  • Drive cost efficiency, identifying areas for cost reduction and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Assess current warehouse solutions, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Ensure alignment of activities within warehousing with the rest of the business, maintaining a cohesive and efficient operation.
  • Identify gaps and weaknesses, implementing solutions to address these areas and improve overall performance.
  • Monitor and control the quality of work done, ensuring high standards are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure alignment of daily activities with the required customer service model, maintaining a customer-centric approach.
  • Address areas of poor performance, implementing corrective actions to improve overall performance.
  • Assess the level of skills with managers and supervisors, addressing any gaps in line with HR policies.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are met, maintaining compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor planning, coordination, and delivery activities, advising solutions for continued improvement.
  • Monitor safety and security processes, advising improvements where necessary in conjunction with the Safety Manager.
  • Provide guidance to warehouse managers and supervisors, supporting their development and growth.
  • Assess processes, implementing continuous improvement techniques for performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with vendors to implement enhancements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Anticipate delays, initiating plans and alternative solutions to minimize disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and maintain implementation and enhancement project plans, ensuring timely completion and effective execution.
  • Manage projects with specific focus on deliverables, tasks, and due dates, maintaining a high level of accountability and responsibility.
  • Perform independently with minimal supervision, working with others to develop trusting relationships and a collaborative work environment.
  • Coordinate with the ASCENS team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Spot-checking all inbound and outbound equipment in conjunction with the Supply Chain Implementation Specialist.
  • Signing off on all inbounds and outbound daily, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for ensuring that weekly cycle counts are accurately completed, as well as monthly stock takes in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensuring the effective management of any variances in stock, maintaining accurate records and tracking progress.
  • Management of employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Managing project costs in conjunction with Managers, ensuring effective budgeting and cost control.
  • Ensuring forklift costs are managed and controlled for various projects, maintaining a high level of accountability and responsibility.
  • Managing stock control and shrinkage in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, ensuring accurate records and tracking progress.
  • Controlling transport yields, ensuring efficient and effective logistics operations.
  • Any other delegated tasks deemed reasonable by the reporting manager.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Grade 12 (Matric) qualification, with a relevant undergraduate qualification in Logistics or a related field.
  • A postgraduate education in a commerce-related field, with industry accreditations (e.g. CSCP) being an added benefit.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years' proven experience in Supply Chain management, with a track record of implementation.
  • Exceptional computer literacy and skills, with Microsoft Office being essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, with a self-motivated and outcomes-driven approach.
  • Ability to adhere to processes, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with punctuality being essential.
  • Own reliable transport, with attention to detail and a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Fluent in English, with a willingness to work beyond normal working hours when required and being flexible to adapt to deadlines.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the industry, with an adaptive nature and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment, with a high level of accountability and responsibility.
