Job Summary

St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a Milieu Counselor to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will facilitate communication with patients and assist in maximizing program participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining a therapeutic environment in the Inpatient treatment programs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with patients and hospital personnel
  • Responsible for assuring confidentiality of patient information
  • Observe patient behavior and record observations in patient charts and during case conferences
  • Communicate during shift change meetings, including but not limited to, patient room checks and successful hand off at end of shift

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Six months related experience and/or training & CASAC-T preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and manage time accordingly to meet deadlines and requirements of the organization
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
