About the Role

IDC, the premier global technology market research firm, is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to support the expansion of its telecom research across META and globally. The successful candidate will contribute to IDC's data and analytics products, delivering both quantitative and qualitative research on telecom markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze data on telecom market spending and business segments to support IDC tracker products within the META region and globally.
  • Conduct research on telecom markets, focusing on core telecom and ICT/adjacent services.
  • Take ownership of IDC tracker product(s) and deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Support custom consulting projects by building data models to meet client needs and collaborating with IDC research and consulting teams.
  • Develop written descriptions, charts, presentations, and marketing materials from analysis and present them in webinars, to clients, or at IDC events.
  • Build strong relationships with telecom operators and ICT vendors to improve IDC's research visibility and relevance in META and globally.
  • Closely collaborate with IDC sales and consultants to drive business development.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and data modeling skills, with a strong attitude to identify key business trends based on qualitative analysis.
  • At least 3-4 years' experience in telecom market research or a relevant practice in an ICT market research or consulting firm.
  • Ability to network with people within the telecom/ICT industry and forge industry contacts.
  • Outstanding data interpretation and writing skills, with the ability to provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Good time management and planning skills, with the ability to conduct several projects in parallel with complex team structures.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a synthetic prose.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office packages, especially MS Excel.
  • University MA/MSc degree in Business, Economics, or STEM subjects.
  • Professional fluency in written and oral English.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in data modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Candidates with knowledge of Python/R and Tableau are preferred.
  • Ability to manage data, data visualization tools.
  • Previous experience on telecom and Internet of Things projects.
  • Public speaking and good interpersonal communication skills.
