About the Role:

Stryker South Africa (Pty) Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Mako Product Specialist to provide clinical product support to end-users of our pioneering MAKO Robotic Surgery Products in Gauteng, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site guidance and assistance during surgical procedures to ensure optimal product performance and user satisfaction.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for surgeons and operating room staff on the operation of the company's robotic arm applications, associated equipment, and instruments.
  • Utilize proprietary software to prepare pre-operative CT scans for use with the RIO/ Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, assisting surgeons in preoperative implant planning, sizing, and positioning.
  • Compile and submit detailed reports to management and regulatory departments on case reviews, services performed, and recommendations for product, documentation, and methodology improvements.
  • Maintain and control local MAKO consigned equipment, instrument, implant, and disposables inventories, process sales orders, and provide forecast input to District Sales Manager.
  • Train physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff, radiology, and central sterile processing on the use of the RIO System, accessories, disposables, and implants.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to customer complaints, adhering to MAKO's quality system requirements.
  • Solve product problems for customers in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide case coverage at unassigned accounts and support the development and execution of the sales plan to increase the utilization of the RIO system.
  • Actively promote the clinical benefits of the products and build strong relationships with key surgeons and OR staff at targeted accounts.
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives and Marketing to enhance public awareness of the company's products.
  • Obtain purchase orders for products consumed during surgical procedures and maintain and track consigned inventories of company's products.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to sell the clinical benefits of the company's products, drive continuous account growth, and case volume.
  • As the Enabling Technologies portfolio expands, provide case assistance for new portfolio offerings, such as Q guidance for spinal and cranial navigation.

Requirements:

A degree or equivalent in a field such as Bio Medical Engineering, Biokinetics, Radiology, Physiotherapy, or a related technical field of study.

Travel Requirements: Up to 75% travel may be required for this role.
