Job Title: Risk Management Specialist - Financial Reporting


Location: West Coast Personnel, South Africa


About the Role:


We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to lead our internal control activities and financial reporting processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and monitoring internal control frameworks, liaising with internal and external auditors, and assisting the CFO with financial reporting.


About You:


To be successful in this role, you will have a CA (SA) certification and at least 2 years of post-SAICA articles experience. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to self-start will enable you to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.


Responsibilities:



  2. Internal Control Framework: Develop and document internal control frameworks, perform process walkthroughs, identify key controls, and deploy new controls.
  3. Monitoring Compliance: Plan and execute ongoing internal control compliance monitoring, communicate deficiencies, and report to the CFO and Head of Internal Audit.
  4. Audit Support: Liaise with internal and external auditors, schedule audits, review reports, and respond to audit queries.
  5. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing management accounts, annual financial statements, and quarterly board reports.
  6. Other Duties: Research accounting pronouncements, perform backup general ledger accounting, and handle ad hoc requests from the CFO.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • CA (SA) certification required
  • IIA certification is a plus
  • At least 2 years of post-SAICA articles experience
  • Similar industry experience in insurance preferred
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel
  • Ability to self-start, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently
  • Strong communication skills

Additional Information:


The estimated salary range for this position is between R700,000 and R1,000,000 per annum, depending on experience. We welcome applications from qualified candidates who are willing to travel within South Africa at least twice a year.
