The successful candidate will act as a technical support engineer for the venue, capable of designing, programming, and managing live events that range from conferences to special occasions.

Experience in live production engineering is preferred, showcasing technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and the capacity to remain composed and confident in a fast-paced production setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, configure, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and dismantle event/AV equipment.
  • Operate independently, lead, train, and supervise vendor engineering staff.
  • Identify and report issues with complex equipment, performing repairs when possible.
  • Manage systems and inventory, maintaining accurate records of equipment usage.
  • Develop, document, and uphold event/AV standards while promoting process enhancements.
  • Elevate customer experiences by seeking opportunities to enhance skills and processes.
A Day in the Life:

The role of an Event Support Engineer involves operating production equipment during live events in a large on-campus venue.

The engineer will collaborate with producers, colleagues, and clients to ensure high-quality event experiences.

This position encompasses all phases of the event lifecycle, including pre-production planning, setup, execution, and restoration of event spaces.

Pre-Event:
  • Engage with the event producer to ascertain technical requirements.
  • Conduct setup, configuration, and thorough testing of equipment prior to the event.
Event Execution:
  • Operate event/AV equipment (audio, video, lighting).
  • Optimize systems to achieve the highest quality possible.
  • Adapt to customer requirements and changes as needed.
Post-Event:
  • Assist in dismantling event spaces, ensuring proper handling and storage of equipment.
  • Participate in post-event feedback discussions and surveys.
About the Team:

The Event Production team is dedicated to delivering exceptional support to internal Amazon clients.

This team comprises engineers and system specialists who engage daily with the installed production equipment, facilitating the planning and execution of each event.

The culture within the Event Production team emphasizes quality customer support for every event, tailoring each experience to maximize results for clients.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event production.
  • At least 3 years of experience in video and audio operation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with video processing equipment and professional audio mixing consoles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedules based on business needs.
  • A positive attitude with a proactive mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-4 year degree in A/V, technical theater, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of live audio/video mixing principles, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for relevant systems and equipment.
  • Background in event AV, including audio, video, lighting, and staging systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
