We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Technician to join our esteemed team at West Coast Personnel. This pivotal role involves the servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC router machines at client locations in South Africa.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position that requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in servicing and operating CNC machines or similar equipment and be proficient in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert service and repair of CNC router machines at customer sites across South Africa.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and comprehensive inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues using strong problem-solving skills.
  • Assist with manufacturing operations within the workshop during non-field periods and operate CNC machines as part of the manufacturing process.
  • Deliver training and technical support to customers to ensure optimal machine performance and prepare detailed service reports.
  • Communicate effectively with both the technical team and customers to ensure clarity and efficiency.
  • Organize and manage a structured schedule to optimize time and resources and undertake occasional travel to client sites as necessary.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in servicing and operating CNC machines or similar equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills complemented by a customer-focused mindset.
  • Valid drivers license with a willingness to travel nationally as required.
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing time and priorities effectively.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package of R150,000 - R200,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus provident fund contribution and opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.
