Process and Formulation Lead

Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled Process and Formulation Lead to join our client's team in the Food & Beverage industry. As the Process and Formulation Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing the formulation and process development activities for new product development and existing product improvements.

You will be reporting to the Recipe Management Team leader and be responsible for internal recipe optimization on existing recipes due to: raw material reworks, cost reduction, alternative suppliers, slow moving stock etc. You will be involved in facilitating recipe transfers from Germany into the local production site. All the above changes might lead to samples being prepared in the development laboratory for approval by the team/client, stability and shelf life tests etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new recipes to reduce costs and raw material usage;
  • Conduct independent recipe testing and trials;
  • Implement and adapt new recipes to meet business requirements;
  • Manage product-specific master data in the IT system (SAP);
  • Optimize recipes by reducing the number of raw materials;
  • Select and optimize raw materials based on cost optimization & avoiding sourcing constraints;
  • Conduct physical, chemical and visual testing of developments/applications;
  • Ensure product stability and shelf life testing;
  • Liaise with Production on adjusted formulations and assist with handovers;
  • Liaise with Sales team as needed;

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Food Science or Food Technology;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a food technologist/scientist;
  • Experience with SAP;
  • Strong knowledge of formulation principles and manufacturing processes in the food and beverage industry;
  • Experience with regulatory and quality standards in the food and beverage industry;
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
  • Strong communication and leadership skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
