Process and Formulation Lead

RPO Recruitment is seeking a talented Process and Formulation Lead to join a reputable FMCG company in Paarl. As a recruitment specialist, we are dedicated to finding the best candidates to support our client's growth and success. In this role, you will be responsible for leading process development and formulation activities for the company's product line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and raw material usage
  • Conduct independent recipe testing and trials to optimize formulations
  • Implement and adapt new recipes to meet business needs
  • Manage product-specific master data in the IT system (SAP)
  • Reduce recipe complexity by minimizing raw materials
  • Select and optimize raw materials based on cost optimization and sourcing constraints
  • Perform physical, chemical, and visual testing of developments and applications
  • Ensure product stability and shelf life
  • Liaise with Production on adjusted formulations and assist with handovers
  • Liaise with Sales team as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in process development and formulation in the FMCG industry
  • Strong knowledge of formulation techniques and process optimization
  • Experience in product scale-up and transfer to production
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Experience with formulation software and tools is a plus
